Prof. Kaisa Koskinen

Kaisa Koskinen is full professor in Translation Studies at Tampere University, Finland. She has published numerous journal articles and seminal monographs. Notable among her publications are "Translating Institutions: An Ethnographic Study of EU Translation" (St. Jerome/Routledge, 2008) and "Translation and Affect" (Benjamins, 2020). Her scholarly contributions extend to edited volumes such as the recent "Routledge Handbook of Translation and Ethics" (co-edited with Nike K. Pokorn, 2020), marking her extensive research interest in ethics. Her doctoral thesis, "Beyond Ambivalence: Postmodernity and the Ethics of Translation" (Tampere University Press, 2000), remains a seminal work in the field. Recognized for her innovative theoretical insights and adaptable methodologies, Koskinen was honored with a national "Pearl of Wisdom" prize.
